U.H.a.t.d.: Mission Week 19 - Transfers and General Conference

Alma 56:48 - "And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it."

People have been saying "hi" to me a lot lately. Elder Wilson said that "hoi" might just be more of an Amsterdams thing. Either that or people can tell that I don't speak great Dutch before they even talk to me. Just because I don't wear black leather pants and a black leather jacket (every Dutch girl) or a Feijenoord jump suit.

It was a great week. Transfers happened on Wednesday. Elder Childs went up to Emmen to fight the JWs with Elder Croft. Elder Morrell came down from Emmen and took Elder Childs' place as Zone Leader. It's going to be a sick transfer. Lots of good people in the Zone. Elder Wilson and I got to help with transfers and I ran into Elder Ocampo and Zuster Stewart-Chester! It was good to see them again.

We had some good lessons with Audrey and Blessing. Audrey gave us a giant atlas that she can't pick up anymore. I'm not sure what we're going to do with it but we carried it back to the apartment. Blessing is being Blessing. We've taught her the Restoration about 5 times and the Plan of Salvation 3 times if that helps explain that situation at all. I guess you could say that we have found "Dory". She's a lot of fun.

The best part of the week was having the opportunity to watch General Conference. It was amazing! I loved how they emphasized having the companionship of the Holy Ghost and my favorite talk has to be Jeffrey R. Holland's talk on mothers. One of the most amazing talks I have every heard. Elder Holland is amazing. I appreciate my mother now more than I ever have. He compared mothers to the Savior. "It's not only that they bare us, but they keep baring with us." My Mom has not stopped "baring with me" as long as I can remember. I add my thank you to Elder Holland's, not just to my own mom, but to all mothers everywhere.
