Hoi,

Mormon 9:19
"And if there were miracles wrought then, why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable being? And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles."

This week was sick. Miracles on miracles on miracles. I'll start off with Jorn. We got back in contact with him on Tuesday (he was on vacation during the holidays with his family so we hadn't been able to meet with him for a month!) and had a sick lesson. We taught him about the Gospel of Jesus Christ/faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. He understood it all very well but the best part was that he read like six chapters in the Book of Mormon since we had last talked with him! It was great. I'm really happy that he's making progress and that he's so interested in the Book of Mormon. He's a good guy.

On Thursday I went on an exchange in Emmen with Elder Perry. It was great. Elder Perry and I were at BYU at the same time and he was actually in my freshman orientation group. Weird. Super cool though. Emmen is great. There was a little snow and lots of ice (which we don't have in Zwolle) and I got to meet Ron. Ron is awesome. He has read the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, and is now half-way through the Book of Mormon again. All of this in the two months that he has been investigating. I also got to attempt to ride a bike on a nice big patch of ice. It resulted in the left half of my body being soaked and I guess it is a necessary experience to becoming a true Nederlander missionary. I don't know that's not actually a thing but still it was great.

We had district meeting on Friday because Tuesday we had had some weather problems so we had to move it. After district meeting Knaupp and I went out and started contacting and we met a woman named Liesebeth. She's not super religious but we were able to testify about the Book of Mormon and I'm pretty darn sure she felt the Spirit because she took the Book of Mormon and started crying a little bit. We exchanged numbers and hopefully we'll be talking with her again soon. Super cool.

Saturday was insane. We went and looked up this lady Sylvia but she wasn't home and so we just started knocking doors around her. We got to the last door on the street and a woman named Kadiatou opened it up and let us in within like thirty seconds. We got to know her a little bit and began teaching her about the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ. Half way through the lesson we were talking a little bit about prayer and receiving answers to prayer and she told us about how on Friday night she had prayed for something that would show her what her faith really is. She woke up Saturday morning to us knocking on her door and there was no way she could turn us away. So that was super cool how she recognized an answer to her prayer. We were able to finish the lesson with her and invite her to be baptized. She accepted and we set a date with her! We'll be meeting with her later this week to explain a little bit more about the Book of Mormon and to talk to her more about how we can help her to learn more and progress towards baptism. So sick!

Sunday night we went back to that area and knocked on Sylvia's door again (her daughter had told us she would be back). She was home and were able to have a lesson with her and she's so cool! We talked about the restoration with her too, and we invited her to be baptized (if she comes to find that these things are true of course... same goes for Kadiatou). She accepted and she's took it all super well. She had a Book of Mormon that missionaries gave her like ten years ago and she's excited to start reading it. We'll be going back to see her again this week too.

Before we went to Sylvia we had an appointment with Ilkay and her mother, Nilgun(?). It was super fun. They're funny and go off into Turkish every once in a while. We talked more to Ilkay about her baptismal date and what she'll have to do to get there (such as gain a testimony, learn more about the covenant that she's going to be making with God, etc.). We also brought a Book of Mormon in Turkish for Nilgun. She told us that she'll have it read by our next appointment... which is on Saturday. Haha I hope she does. I'm excited for her.

So it was a pretty busy week. Full of miracles and testimony builders (my testimony has grown for sure) and it looks like this next week will be full of a lot of the same stuff. I love you all and hope all of you have a great week and keep looking for miracles and answers to prayers in your own lives! They're there. Also read the Book of Mormon!

Tot volgende week!
