Alma 5:60 - "And now I say unto you that the good shepherd doth call after you;and if you will hearken unto his voice he will bring you into his fold, and ye arehis sheep; and he commandeth you that ye suffer no ravenous wolf to enteramong you, that ye may not be destroyed."

Dear family and friends,

Hey Zwolle! Is dat alles wat je in huis heeft? I'd like to thank Mark Knotter for teaching me this phrase this past week during a dinner appointment as he yelled it at Elder Harp who was attacking him with a lightsaber. It basically means "is that all you got?" Well obviously Zwolle has more for me because I'll be staying here for another seven weeks. Haha that will make it six months in Zwolle. Crazy. God has some more work for me here so I'm down.

This past week was chill. We had some cool little miracles and experiences. We finally were able to get in contact with Kim aka Zwanger Vrouw. Elder Knaupp and I found her one of the first days I was in Zwolle (like four and a half months ago). She told us we could come back after the holidays because she was pregnant (zwanger) and was just about to have her baby. So we tried after the holidays and a couple more times and finally this past week we knocked on her door and she was home! And she had some time so she let us in and we were able to get to know her and share a message with her about the restoration of Jesus Christ's church in the latter-days and share the Book of Mormon with her (by the way if you haven't read it, it's a great book and it will change your life;). She said that she would read it, but she's a little busy and it might take her a little time so she asked us to call her and come back in a month. Sick. Kim is super cool and I'm really excited to get to know her better and learn from her.

We also were able to finally get in contact with this referral from America this past week. A missionary serving in the Netherlands got a referral from a friend of his mom back in Texas. Hans and Diny Geerts. They live a little out of Zwolle so it's been difficult to get in contact with them, but this week was solid and it finally happened! We got there and at first Hans and Diny weren't too excited to let us in but we told them we knew this lady from Texas and they were ohhh okay come on in! We were able to talk with them for a while which was super cool. Apparently Stacy (the lady from Texas) had come a while ago to stop by and talk to Hans and Diny. Stacy had done some geneology work and found out that her and the Geerts are distant relatives. So she had decided to come to the Netherlands with her sister and mom and look up Hans and Diny and some other distant relatives (typical Mormons). Super cool. Hans is an awesome guy and showed us some sick stuff. He studies the bible a lot and he actually came to our church in Zwolle a while back! He wrote his own sort of account about it and it was actually super positive and nice and he still has some unanswered questions. They invited us to come back some time and see their 60-year-old Rolls-Royce and have dinner and stuff. Super sick.

So it was a cool week This Wednesday we'll be starting the new transfer and it should be a good one. We're losing Elder Dearden from our district which is sad, but he's moving on to bigger and better things down in Roosendaal. This next transfer I really want to work on improving my communication. With members, investigators, my companion, and whoever else. I read this sick article from the Liahona this past week that has some solid info. It talks about different types of communication, superficial, personal, and validating, as well as listening better and looking for nonverbal cues. I mean it's technically about marriage but I can apply that on my mission as well as after so it's pretty sick. A lot of what it talked about though was communicating in a Christlike manner which is sick and very important. Also Marvin J Ashton said, "Communication is more than a sharing of words. It is the wise sharing of emotions, feeligns, and concerns. It is the sharing of oneself totally." I think that could mean sharing your testimony. That's one of the most powerful ways that we can communicate our beliefs with others, by bearing short and powerful testimony. Also about listening, Russell M. Nelson said, "...learn to listen, and listen to learn from one another..." Super cool and I hope I'll be able to do that this next transfer. If anybody else has good communication tips, hit me up!

Thank you all and I love you all! Everybody have a great week and be happy.

Love,
Elder Wright
