Dear family and friends,
Mosiah 5:7 -> "And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons, and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters."
This week was pretty eventful. My prayers go out to the families of those affected by the bombings in Brussels. I'm happy to hear that the missionaries involved are all doing okay. It was weird to hear about and a little more personal and close than other attacks have been to me. The metro that was impacted by one of the bombs is the same one we would ride when we would take trips down to Brussels. Also it's weird hearing of other missionaries being there. We're all safe though. God protects us.
It was a great week to celebrate Easter though. Because of the Atonement and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, those who have lost family members in these attacks, can see those loved ones again and have the opportunity to live eternally with them. He makes it so that we don't have to go through hard experiences like this alone. He walks with us and guides us through life, and when we experience trials He carries us, if we allow Him to.
We had a few really cool experiences this week. On Friday we were looking up a referral, Walter. He was home and was super cool. He invited us to come back which was great to hear haha. We always 2-2-5 our referrals. Or knock two doors on either side of the referral and then five across the street. On the fourth door we knocked we met Diana. She is super cool and she also invited us back after we talked for like 20 minutes and learned a little about her and explained what we do.
On Tuesday I got to be in Zwolle on exchanges with Elder Jardine. That was a good day. Elder Jardine is a solid missionary and is making a lot of progress which is always good to see. On Wednesday the Zone Leaders, Elder Hosea and Elder Parr, came and worked with Elder Harp and I in Zwolle. That was a lot of fun. I worked with Elder Parr. We had a nice lesson with Etty and a lengthy visit with Ina (a very nice less active member). We also snagged some sick pics and went and contacted people in the centrum of Zwolle. That was a ton of fun. One of my first times actually centrum contacting and I love it! We were able to give a Book of Mormon to this super nice younger couple and talk to a lot of other cool people.
Easter was great. We had church, then a lunch appointment with Familie Knarren, and a dinner appointment with Familie De Jonge. Church was solid and Robert and Etty both came so that was great. We went with Familie Knarren to their caravan outside of Wezep and had a lekker Easter lunch and an egg hunt with the kids and we even fought off some pirates and found the princess. Something happened though and I guess it turned out that I was actually a pirate so I ended up dying. It's good I'm not going to let it bother me. De Jonge's was great. Zuster De Jonge is out of town and the kids were all gone so we just ate with Broeder De Jonge. He's a great man and it was awesome to be able to get to know him better.
I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that God, our Heavenly Father, loves us more than we will ever know. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that we have prophets and apostles still today. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true and I know this because it makes me happy and it makes my family happy and I have asked God. Also one of the best sisters ever is having a birthday this week so HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kenzie! Everybody have a great week and read the Book of Mormon!
Love,
