Dear family and friends,
D&C 124:55 -> "And again, verily I say unto you, I command you again to build a house to my name, even in this place, that you may prove yourselves unto me that ye are faithful in all things whatsoever I command you, that I may bless you, and crown you with honor, immortality, and eternal life."
This week was pretty good. The work was a little bit slow due to meeting and Conference and other lame stuff but it was still stellar. I got to go on an exchange with Elder Kauer in Assen on Thursday and that was a ton of fun. Elder Kauer is a power horse. We met this really cool lady named Christina who we asked if we could help her with her garden. She said yes eventually and we got down and dirty pulling weeds. It was great. We also got to talk with her about the Restored gospel of Jesus Christ while we worked so that was even more fun. She had a lot of questions and was super nice and gave us some apple juice and Easter candy. Everybody has chocolate left over from Easter so I mean I can't say no if they offer right?
We were able to meet with Hacer twice this week which was good and we finally got a member, Sue-haina, to come with us to our appointment with her on Friday. We have been trying to do that for so long! It was great though. It always helps to have a member present at the lesson. We moved Hacer's baptismal date goal back a little bit and set a date with her as a goal to come to church. A 'kerk datum'. She said she would try her best to get that day off of work and she is praying for it and so are we. It will really help her to gain a testimony and bless her if she can make it to church and feel the Spirit there and make friends with the members. Hacer is awesome.
Watching General Conference was definitely the highlight of the week. I really enjoyed the sessions and felt spiritually uplifted and edified by the words of every speaker. It seems that in each talk there was something that I needed to hear or something that I need to change and apply in my own life. I loved it. Gosh there were a billion marriage talks as well so I was in heaven. It was a great conference. I really appreciate and have developed a lot of love for our leaders. They are human but they are so full of God's love and the Spirit it's amazing. I didn't get to view the Sunday afternoon session so I'm excited to find some time to watch that this next week. During the Priesthood Session we got to hear from our beloved prophet, Thomas S. Monson. He did not speak for very long, but what he said was powerful. I like what he said, "Wherever you go, your priesthood goes with you. Are you standing in holy places?... may we be determined now to be prepared and worthy to use the priesthood." That inspires me and motivates me to stand in holy places and remember the potential of the priesthood power which I hold.
I love this gospel and I know that Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet here on the earth. He is inspired and is called to lead us and show us the way in this tumultuous world. God, our Heavenly Father, loves us and wants the best for us. He gave us His Son so that we can one day have the opportunity to return to live with Him, and so that we can live eternally with our families. I love my family and could not imagine life, mortal or eternal, without them. Follow Jesus Christ and the words of His prophets. It will truly change your life.
Everybody have a great week and a good start to a new month!
Love,
Elder Wright
