Alma 29:3 - "But behold, I am a man, and do sin in my wish; for I ought to be content with the things which the Lord hath alloted unto me."
Dear family and friends,
This week was super leuk. We went to the temple and to Keukenhof (a big garden of flowers, very Dutch) and saw some cool miracles with investigators and stuff so that was sick. We were also blessed with cold weather and rain and bike problems. It keeps us humble I guess haha. Missionary work is fun though. It's easy to get caught up in the not so fun things about it but as I have come to love the work and love the people and just have fun as I share the gospel, the not so fun things don't matter nearly as much.
The temple was amazing. I felt spiritually re-energized and peaceful as I left and I felt a lot of love for and from my Heavenly Father. One of the biggest things that I felt as I was praying in the temple was just to focus and work. So I've been doing my best to do just that, and it's been great.
Keukenhof was fun. All of the flowers weren't in bloom but Elder Perry, Elder Leishman, and I were able to snag some lekker squad photos and I was able to see my brother Elder Richards and catch up with Elder Stevensen and Elder Knaupp for a bit. I also almost held a goat and got to pose in a giant klompen. It was a great day. I'll include a few pics. Prepare yourselves.
I think Sunday we saw our biggest miracle of the week. Hacer came to church with her mom and her two daughters. It was their first time and I am so thankful for the members and how well they received the family. Robert also made it to church again (Robert is awesome) and Venna came to church too! In the gospel principle class we were going around and introducing ourselves so Hacer could get to know people and Robert, Desiree (an awesome member), and Venna all bore testimony about the church and how much happiness they see from it and how nice the members are. That was great for Hacer to hear I think and I was super happy. Robert is great and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets baptized within the next few months. The missionaries he met with in England really were good friends with him and the members there were great examples. It was a great Sunday and a great end to a little bit of a hectic week.
We're expecting lots of miracles this next week. We're taking a little bit of time to e-mail today because most of our P-day will be spent on Wednesday going to the monkey farm (yet another opportunity for bomb pictures) and then on Thursday we'll be going with two investigators, Hans and Diny, to go visit somewhere cool. I'm not sure where it is yet but it sounds cool. I hope you all have a week full of miracles and have fun!
Love,
Elder Wright
