1 Corinthians 15:55-57 -> "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
Dear family and friends,
This week was sicccck. A nice end to my time in the beautiful city of Zwolle. Too bad we were only in Zwolle for half of the week... On Tuesday we had our last district meeting of the transfer (featuring yoga of course and Elder Parr and I destroying everyone in foosball) and then Elder Harp and I went on exchanges in Apeldoorn with Elder Parr and Elder Hosea. I got to spend the day with Elder Hosea and it was great. We got some solid missionary work in, talked to some cool dude about his motorcycle, took some sick pics, and saw this huge stork in a huge nest feeding it's babies. Super cool. I made sure to include some pics. Enjoy.
On Wednesday we had our P-day. We went with Parr and Hosea to Apen Heul. It's just a huge Ape zoo basically except half of the apes aren't in cages and one came up and played with my hand. I died. It made me baby trunky... Haha no it didn't. We did get to see some Gorillas get fed and some Bonobos do their thing. It was a lot of fun.
On Thursday we spent the day with Hans and Diny Geerts. They are this older couple we met a month ago and they wanted to eat with us and show us some cool stuff like tulips and windmills and Giethoorn (the "Venice of the Netherlands"). They got us Chinese food too so that was just a nice end to a great day. After dinner we had a great lesson with Jorn and I had to say goodbye. It's okay though. I'm sure I'll see him again. He gave me some music suggestions for when I go home. Gojira and Infected Mushroom? Haha I love Jorn. Such a good guy.
Sunday was insane. Six investigators came to church! Super cool. Robert showed which was great, Etty came with her kids and new baby, Denise came for my last Sunday, Iris was there, and Hacer came with her family and a good friend of the family... Ilkay! What the heck. It was so weird. She dropped us like a month ago because her grandparents didn't want her going to a Christian church, which is fine, and then she just walks in with Hacer! So weird. It was a great Sunday though.
After church we went with Broeder Van Andel and his wife Iris to eat food and talk about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ... for five hours. Iris isn't a member and doesn't really have a religious background. Her and Broeder Van Andel just got married in February and she started coming to church a little and then Saturday they called and asked if we would come over after church to answer some questions for Iris. It was great. We were able to answer her questions, eat friets, talk about the Plan of Salvation, and then make her a FamilySearch account. It was cool.
While we there, President Bunnell called... duh duh duh duh... He let Elder Harp know that he would be staying in Zwolle and getting Elder Matos as a companion (funny because Elder Matos will be coming from Assen which is like a 40 minute train ride away and Elder Harp came from Assen when he came to join me in Zwolle ha). So I'm sad to leave Zwolle but am happy to say that I'm leaving it in good hands. President Bunnell then spoke to me and let me know I'll be returning to my baby city (Rotterdam Zuid) and serving as a Zone Leader with Elder Harrop. I was a little shocked and can just add that to my long list of awkward transfer calls haha but I'm excited. I love Rotterdam Zuid.
I hope everybody is doing well and that everybody has a great week! The Book of Mormon is the word of God and will change your life! Read it! Also shout out to my brother Jake for his 17th birthday this Sunday! He's so old holy crap.
Love,
Elder Wright
