Romans 5:19 -> "For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."
Dear family and friends,
I'll start this off with a quick Oma Buntin quote. This is a message she left on our phone on Saturday - "Hi guys it's Sister Buntin. Phone me right away when you get a chance. Okay? I wanted to speak to Wisconky(me). Okay. Phone me."
I hope everybody had a great week! Elder Crowder and I had a killer week. We had a few appointments fall through the cracks and just a few people say no when asked if we could share the message of the restored gospel with them, but we did see miracles! One really cool miracle was when our appointment with John Ardin on Tuesday. John is great. He's from Suriname and he's super friendly and very chill and relaxed. We watched the Restoration video with him to review the first lesson and he seemed to really enjoy that. In his closing prayer he said (except in Dutch) "Heavenly Father, the missionaries have asked to ask this message is true, but I don't need to do that, because I know that it's true." Ahhh super cool. I love John. He's such a good guy.
One other really nice miracle we saw this week was when we went to look up this referral, Maria. She had ordered a Lamb of God DVD from Facebook and so we called her and set up an appointment for Saturday morning. We got there and started talking to her a little bit. She's from Cape Verde and she said that her daughter was probably the one who sent her the DVD. She then pulls out an envelope and pulls a letter and two pictures out from inside the envelope. The letter was a letter from the England London mission president to Maria and the pictures were of her daughter as a missionary with her mission president and his wife! It was insane! Elder Crowder and I were shocked. Crazy. I guess her daughter moved away from home a year or so ago to Portugal. She got baptized there and is now serving a mission and her mom has no idea. She said she's kind of confused because they can only talk through email every Monday. Haha she's a missionary mom and she doesn't even know it. We set up an appointment with her to go back next Saturday.
We also got to go to the temple on Saturday with the Rotterdam South ward. It was really nice. I love the temple and it was great to be able to go and support the ward there.
Happy Father's Day! I hope all of the fathers and potential fathers had a great day yesterday. Elder Crowder and I had a great time saying fijne/goede vader's dag to everbody we saw. It was nice. I'm soo excited to be a dad someday and I am so thankful for the example of my Dad and for all that he has done for me. Love you Dad!
Here's a nice quote from Elder Christofferson about fathers and our Heavenly Father - "The perfect, divine expression of fatherhood is our Heavenly Father. His character and attributes include abundant goodness and perfect love. His work and glory are the development, happiness, and eternal life of His children. Fathers in this fallen world can claim nothing comparable to the Majesty on High, but at their best, they are striving to emulate Him, and they indeed labor in His work. They are honored with a remarkable and sobering trust."
Love,
Elder Wright
