D&C 93:1 -> "Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sinsand cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth mycommandments, shall see my face and know that am..."

Dear family and friends,

I would just like to get straight to one of the biggest miracles of the week. We saw a lot of really cool miracles this week as we came in contact with those who are ready to receive the restored gospel, but my favorite (if I'm aloud to choose a favorite) was Frederico Royes. We received a referral a couple of weeks ago from mormon.org
. A man, Frederico Royes, had gone to the website and said that he wanted the missionaries to come by. So we called him and made an appointment for this past Saturday. We got to his building and it was a really nice high rise very close to the Erasmusbrug. He let us in and we went up to meet him. He's a young guy from Columbia and has been living in the Netherlands for two or three years now working as an engineer. He has found it difficult to adjust to the culture in Europe. The people aren't as social and happy as they are in the Americas. The past several months he has been feeling a little sad and even depressed and he said that he remembered a friend of his from Columbia who is LDS. He had gone to church with that friend a few times and even received a Spanish Book of Mormon from him. Since he and his friend had parted ways he hadn't thought too much about it and he isn't very religious, but he did remember how positive and happy his friend was. So a few weeks ago he contacted this friend (who is currently going to school in Utah) and asked him how he could be more happy. The friend told him that he should invite the missionaries over, so he did that and there we were. When we walked in he offered us water and a piece of cake. I asked what the occasion was and he said "It's my berday!" in his strong Columbian accent. Haha I guess birthdays/berdays aren't a huge deal in his family so he didn't have any big plans for the day, but it was still cool to celebrate with him and share the message of the Restoration with him. He was very open to reading in the Book of Mormon and will start to pray to know if it is true. He has a lot of interest in investigating his 'spiritual side' which he has never really looked into too much before. He is super cool and Elder Thornock and I are really excited to keep meeting with him and get to know him better and help him along the path back to his Heavenly Father. It was a really cool experience and just a testimony to me that as we are good examples to those around us, miracles will happen. Cheers to Frederico's friend. He did a great job.

We didn't have a lot of contact with our actual investigators this week, although we did have a very solid appointment with Berry. He's such a good guy and is starting to progress a ton as he opens up more and finds his own answers. Slowly but surely. We had a lesson with this 19-year-old kid named Giovanni. He actually knows some members in the ward and is friends with one of the jovos. He is very cool and open to learn more. His little brother was kind of funny and reminded me of Zach. When we walked in he was just wearing this big Africa shirt (only the shirt) and sitting on the couch playing some video game.

On Thursday we had exchanges with Rotterdam North. I got to work with the one and only Elder Mikkelson, and we saw some really cool miracles. We were taking a picture of this WWII monument by Zuidplein and Elder Mikkelson was like "Hey, that lady looks sad, let's go talk to her." So, Elder Mikkelson is inspired because we did go and talk with the sad looking lady sitting on the bench and we shared a Book of Mormon with her and said a prayer. She was really happy afterwards and started reading in the book. We got her number so that we could meet her at the bench another time. After that we went and had a cool lesson with this couple, Zhoerik and Mindy, and their daughter Anaya. They aren't super religious but they are okay if we come a few times. Mindy said that we can come, but if after a few times she doesn't feel anything, then she'll tell us to stop coming. That's perfect for us. She will feel something though, I know that for sure.

Miracles on miracles. I love missionary work and serving the Lord. It's been fun and I can't wait to see what the next nine months hold. I hope you all have a great week and that you see some miracles too! Shout out to Stefani and Josephine who have birthdays this week!!!

Love,
Elder Wright
