Jacob 7:61-63 -> "Wherefore, go to, and call servants, that we may labor diligently with our might in the vineyard, that we may prepare the way, that I may bring forth again the natural fruit, which natural fruit is good and the most precious above all other fruit. Wherefore, let us go to and labor with our might this last time, for behold the end draweth nigh, and this is for the last time that I shall prune my vineyard. Graft in the branches; begin at the last that they may be first, and that the first may be last, and dig about the trees, both old and young, the first and the last; and the last and the first, that all may be nourished once again for the last time."
Dear friends and family,
I guess the title might not have been super clear, but the message that I was trying to get across is that I will be staying in Rotterdam South for six more weeks! This will be my sixth transfer in this area and by the end of the transfer it will mark nine months of serving in Rotterdam South. It's a great city and I love the ward. I wouldn't want to stay nine months anywhere else! I will also be able to continue serving with Elder Thornock. It should be another fun and eventful transfer.
This week wasn't too eventful. We has a lot of lessons fall through but fortunately we were able to meet with Frederico still, eat lunch with Berry, and have a lesson with Ichka (the Dutch/Mongolian taal barrier is huge...). I learned how to say 'Heavenly Father' in Mongolian though! 'Tengerleg Esteg'. Cool huh?
On Friday I was able to work for the day with Elder Wilson! That was great and it was good to be able to see how much progress each of us have made over the past year. This next transfer will mark about a year since I was first in Rotterdam South. Elder Wilson is a great missionary and friend. I'm grateful that I have had the chance to serve with him. He'll be leaving the zone unfortunately, but he is going to be serving with Elder Crowder! I'm really excited for both of them. They'll do great things for this mission.
Today we were walking through the Zuidplein winkelcentrum and all of the sudden Elder Thornock stops this man and says hi and it's John Ardin! What?!?! Crazy. So he got back from Suriname yesterday. He's pretty bummed about the death of his father, but he is willing to meet with us still and he said that we should call him. Heavenly Father answers prayers!
That's about it for this week! Expect to keep seeing a lot of and hearing a lot about Rotterdam South for the next six weeks! Fijne week!
met liefde,
Elder Wright
