Alma 17:13 -> "And it came to pass when they had arrived in the borders of the land of the Lamanites, that they separated themselves and departed one from another, trusting in the Lord that they should meet again at the close of their harvest; for they supposed that great was the work which they had undertaken."

Dear family and friends,

My reign in Rotterdam South has come to an end. I am leaving 010 to serve in 013 aka Tilburg! I will have the opportunity to serve with Elder Sosa for the next six weeks! It's kind of funny because he will be my third companion in a row who was in the same MTC group and went to BYU before serving a mission. I'm very excited to serve with Elder Sosa and am looking forward to a new city. From what I know of Tilburg, it sounds very different from Rotterdam. It is in the Southern part of the Netherlands in the province of Brabant. I'm hoping the culture shock of going from the 'ghetto' to the student city isn't too bad.

The last week in Rotterdam South was good. We had good lessons with John Ardin (who is now preparing for baptism on 10 December) and with Deng (we talked about like thirty different questions he had including temples, the word of wisdom, and general conference... all of which he seemed to understand very well) and also with Anne and Darrel. We got in contact with them again last week and went again last night. They are doing okay. Anne is struggling with her faith a ton, which is hard, but next week we will be going over with a member to give their children a priesthood blessing. I will miss John Ardin, Deng, and Darrel and Anne. They have all been good friends to me and I've been able to see the gospel affect each of their lives over the time that I have gotten to know them.

General Conference was definitely the highlight of the week for me. I really enjoyed the focus by the speakers on the topics of repentance, prayer, following the will of God, and missionary work (always a good topic). I liked when President Nelson said, "The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives." If we are focused on the gospel and on doing good, we will find more joy in life. I also thought it was cool when a couple different speakers talked about "treating others as the potential they have to become." The way we treat and interact with others can greatly effect the person that they become. "The way you see a child is they way you treat them, and the way you treat them is the person they will become." So, as always, conference has inspired me and motivated me to be a better person and to serve others with more love. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today and is called of God. I am very thankful for his words and the words and guidance from all of the general authorities. I thank our Heavenly Father for the opportunity that I have to serve Him and His children.

If you didn't get a chance to watch all of General Conference, watch it, and have a great week!

Tot de volgende week... in Tilburg!
